Ocean Love (Beach and Marine Protection Council) BMEPC is an NGO aims to protect the Ocean, Marine Species, Beach & Environment.

Vision

Ocean Love envisages saving, through direct actions and awareness programmes, all water resources of the world from further degradation.

Mission

Taking direct action to clean up the oceans, creating awareness on Marine Pollution and Global Warming, getting leaders, policy makers and authorities to act and pooling resources from all over the world to stop the degradation of the oceans.

Future Goals

First Phase

  • Making coastal hospitality facilities aware of the dangers of degradation of ocean water and beaches
  • Stopping direct dumping of waste into the oceans from hospitality facilities
  • Making coastal people, especially in tourism destinations, aware of the dangers of marine degradation
  • Cleaning the coastline, especially in places of tourist interest, by removing the plastic and other waste dumped along the coastline
  • Reducing the environmentally harmful ocean-based tourist activities
  • Getting authorities to enact stricter laws and implement them to save oceans and backwaters from further degradation

Second Phase

  • Reduce marine pollution from land-based activities like reclamation of wet lands, levelling of hills, deforestation and dam-building
  • Sustainably protect and manage ecosystems on the coastal areas and in the oceans takes initiatives for
  • Their restoration so that oceans become healthier and more productive
  • Regulate overharvesting of the oceanic resources like fish, coral and other products
  • Set aside at least 10% of the coastal and marine areas for conservation without any commercial
  • Activity, as per UN guidelines and international laws
  • Minimize the harmful effects of ocean acidification through cooperation of the scientific community
  • Increase scientific knowledge to improve ocean health and conserve marine biodiversity
  • Regulate sustainable use of oceans by providing traditional fishers access to marine resources and Markets
  • Educating school children through classes and movies and involving them in the ocean protection and environment protection
  • Make sustainable use of oceans more widespread through implementation of international law

  • Project on Artificial Coral Reef balls to be installed at the Costal belt
